- 12-Step group for the families of people addicted to alcohol. Many families with a loved one addicted to other kinds of drugs also attend Al-Anon, however, in accordance with the group’s traditions, it is asked that alcohol be one of the abused substances.

American Self-Help Group Clearinghouse
- Database containing self-help and caregiver supports groups.

- An online community that is family-oriented, providing help, information and support. There are closed Facebook groups in many states, and you can find the link for your state on the main site. “We believe that by embracing, educating, and empowering families and communities impacted by substance use disorder, we can help create a healthier system for individuals, families and communities.”
- A fellowship whose common purpose is to develop healthy relationships
- FAMILIES ANONYMOUS is a 12 Step fellowship for the families and friends who have known a feeling of desperation concerning the destructive behavior of someone very near to them, whether caused by drugs, alcohol, or related behavioral problems.
- I don’t recommend any specific treatment centers, but am providing this link because of the FREE resources that are available. There is 24/7 personal support by phone, text and email.

- NA is a 12-Step support for people with addictions to various illegal drugs, as well as prescription medications.
National Alliance on Mental Illness
- NAMI provides education, support and advocacy for the mentally ill and their families. State and community chapters exist throughout the country. Please see the website to find a group in your area.
- Now over 20,000 members strong, this is an online community where moms support one another. Each state has it’s own (private) Facebook page where moms can connect directly, sharing daily struggles, as well as hope. There are also these specialized Facebook groups:
