Ninety-day countdown begins today for the release of A Very Fine House on September 23! I began writing FIVE years ago, and stopped and started about five times. I mean…what was I thinking that I could write a book? Me, the one whose high school senior English teacher told I’d never make it through college because I couldn’t write (can you hear a “neener-neener”?). All I’d ever written was a decent business letter or indignant consumer complaint. But with the stuff that miracles are made of, I somehow sold my story to a publisher about a year and a half ago. I can only conclude that this is a story that demands telling.
Please forgive the self-promotion today…and that which will follow these next weeks and months. I’ve learned the publishing industry counts on authors to participate in the marketing of their own books. Uncomfortable as it is, I do want to sell books. I do want other families to know there is help, there is hope, there is recovery.

You lived through all of it with me, Cheryl. Some of your wisdom is in the story.

I too, am anxiously awaiting the release of your book, Barb. I know this is a life-changing work of art that you have labored over and am so proud to know you. Your wisdom and the story you tell will surely l be a powerful catalyst of healing. Just call me EXCITED – I can hardly wait 90 more days!

I can’t wait to read it. I have already pre-ordered a copy. I will be telling lots of people about the upcoming book. Any chance you will do a book signing in Orlando? Congratulations! Be sure to send that English teacher a copy!

Thank you, Pam! I keep hoping something will get me to Orlando so I can see you. It’s been too long. And thank you for the order! I’ll be getting links on my website soon to Amazon, B&N and others. I’m not crazy about the copy and have been waiting for my publisher to correct it.
My English teacher recently passed, but I doubt he’d remember me anyway.

So lucky to have gotten to read an early draft. A Very Fine House is a Very Fine Book! It’s a heart wrenching, heart warming, inspirational, and very, very, well written book.
